Parallel World
January 5, 2021
Not far from the urban jungle we live in, another side of the world is going on so slowly and quietly that we cannot feel any change. Never do we hear the mangroves cry or notice the suffering of seabirds. We are unaware of how living creatures in the water struggle to survive.

“Parallel World” is where every minute goes by, as if it never intersected with the world where we live. We look from the corner of our eyes but never see it. We hear but never listen to it. And we still assume that it is not relevant to us and does not affect our lives.

Will this world go on in parallel to us forever? Is it really another world that has nothing to do with us? Or is it the very same world that we build up and own together, but it is only our own awareness that has never intersected with this “this world”?

Satita Taratis was born in 1993 in Bangkok, Thailand, and graduated in computer science and multimedia. She started taking photos when she was young, and her growing love in photography has turned her favorite hobby into something she happily does for a living now. At the age of 18 in her freshman year at university, she joined a volunteer camp to develop infrastructure in a remote village of mountainous Chiang Mai. It was her first time to be immersed in the beauty of nature and scenery hills. This experience changed her life and how she sees the world. Nature gives her inspiration and energy. Since then, Satita has been interested in human-nature relationships and dreams of living in the wild, in order to seek an answer to her own question as to how to live in harmony with nature.
