Commitment to sustainability, the use of natural materials, and the design of timeless pieces are both admirable and challenging. They raise important questions about the true cost of materials and textiles, the impact of our choices on the environment, and the well-being of the people involved in the production of our clothes. The photo series highlights the behind-the-scenes process of cultivating, creating, spinning, weaving, and sewing fibers and materials. It aims to capture the cultural and emotional significance of this intricate process and its impact on individuals and communities. The focus is on working with natural materials and designing with a deep respect for the environment.

In a world that often prioritizes luxury and excess, Linda stands as a unique paradox. After years of studying textile and fashion design, she made the decision to return to her hometown with a garden and a small farm nestled under the Brdy Mountains. Embracing a simple and humble life in the countryside, surrounded by her sheep, Linda wholeheartedly focuses on environmentally friendly living.

With her own design brand, Linda creates clothing from woolen cloth made from Czech sheep’s wool, which is woven in the last remaining traditional Czech weaving mill. The woolen fabrics and garments she produces under her fashion brand are distinctly Czech, natural, renewable, and recyclable. They are crafted entirely locally, utilizing the wool sourced from Czech sheep. The majority of the garments are sewn on her rural estate.

This project serves as an invitation for all of us to reflect on our own relationship with nature and consider how we can contribute to the healing and preservation of our environment. By shedding light on the transformative nature of textiles, the photo series and its accompanying call aim to deepen our understanding and appreciation for the craftsmanship, sustainability, and cultural heritage that are deeply woven into the world of fashion and design. Ultimately, this endeavor seeks to foster a harmonious relationship between humanity and nature, aligning our actions and choices with the well-being of our planet.
