Say something about yourself?
My name is Yorgos Yatromanolakis. I am currently based in Athens, Greece. I like working on long-term photography projects and turning them into books, experimenting with storytelling, materials and design.
What is this series?
This photographic work entitled ‘The splitting of the chrysalis & the slow unfolding of the wings’ is a notebook, reflecting the healing journey of my internal metamorphosis process during a dark period of my life.
How/When did you start this series?
This series emerged from an unforeseen return to my family house in 2014, in the island of Crete and my residence there for four years.
What message do you want to tell the audience?
I hope that the viewers, through their diversity, their own sensibilities and their memories, can create their own interpretations and discover their own meanings.
