All living things must adapt to survive. Changes in the natural cycle of life have been constant throughout history. But if we want to emancipate ourselves from the constraints of the rules established by humankind, what would we have to do?

Everything that humans construct - whether to worship their dreams, fulfill personal desires, benefit others, and gain financially, as time passes, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain the same conditions. Everything changes. Our dreams of the future rarely align perfectly with reality. In our pursuit of an ideal future, we often destroy what remains the same and replace it with new things, despite knowing that the future is still unpredictable.

On the other hand, things that humans have already created will eventually face countless factors that will try to make them fall apart. But no matter how deteriorated they become, if there is a strong attachment to those things, humans will stubbornly strive to protect and preserve them, no matter how much they have to sacrifice the future or how temporarily they can hold onto them. As long as something can serve as a representative of a once-beautiful past, that alone is enough. Information theory, or the second law of thermodynamics, explains that understanding information about various matters in the future tends to become more complex over time. If we want to define the future or improve the efficiency of a system, we need to use increasingly powerful algorithms. Some things, when they become more ordered, will eventually result in less information about them being perceivable. On the other hand, in situations of increased disorder, we also tend to gather less information about them.

These two seemingly opposite characteristics ultimately converge at a shared conclusion. Transformation Theory explores the relationship between Chiang Mai and Bangkok, between those who strive to hold on to the past and those who seek to move toward a better future. This is depicted through the reconstruction of fragmented photographs in the exhibition. Additionally, the exhibition raises the question of whether human development can actually lead us to the ideals we have dreamed of.

About the Artist
Sirawit Kuwawattananont is an artist who also moonlights as a physics tutor. His photographic style has the unique characteristics of emotion and memory, reflected through soft light, colour, and atmosphere that evoke a sense of nostalgia. The concept of his work often explores the relationship between people and places, and he skillfully integrates scientific theories with art, creating a harmonious fusion of both disciplines.
