Say something about yourself?
I am a Wednesday child. Ironically, my parents call me “GAP”. I found myself in middle of enormous diversities when I was studying in Washington, DC U.S.A. spending years in The International Students House. All these bits in life have been impacted on the way I see and photograph the world.
What is this series?
This is a conceptual street photography in series.
Obviously, Uthaipia is the series of photographic artwork which fantasied from the book “Utopia” by Sir, Thomas More : the ideal of the perfect state that never exits. Could “Uthaipia” be such the place? The photographs in the series serve as questions rather than answers.
How/When did you start this series?
Since 2009, I have been street photographing (un-posed, candid & public) images of Thais in the old traditional costumes in the artistic surprising unusual backgrounds, situations or surroundings; from both events and daily life. I have been trying to transfer my street photography to more conceptual photography.
Any news or updates?
I plan to do a full set of 30–50 photographs exhibition and a book on this “UTHAIPIA” one day, soon!
